Our practice focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. It involves the care of women throughout their pregnancy, the management of labor and delivery, and the medical care of both the mother and the baby after birth. In Obstetrics we also deal with any complications that may arise during pregnancy or delivery, such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, or breech presentation.

Managing Pregnancy Complications:

  • Gestational Diabetes Management: Monitoring blood sugar levels and recommending lifestyle changes or medications if needed.

  • Preeclampsia Monitoring: Detecting high blood pressure and protein in the urine to prevent complications like eclampsia.

  • Preterm Labor Management: Addressing the risk of early delivery and working to prevent premature birth through medication or lifestyle changes.

Invasive Diagnostic Procedures:

  • Amniocentesis: A procedure used to test the amniotic fluid for genetic disorders or chromosomal conditions.

  • Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS): A test to detect certain genetic conditions by taking a sample from the placenta.

  • Fetal Blood Sampling: A procedure to test the baby’s blood for certain conditions in high-risk pregnancies.

Surgical Services:

  • C-Section: As mentioned, a surgical procedure to deliver the baby through the abdomen when vaginal delivery isn’t possible.

  • Tubal Ligation (Sterilization): A permanent form of contraception that some women opt for after completing their family.

  • Repair of Obstetric Trauma: Treating any injuries or complications resulting from childbirth, such as vaginal tears or uterine prolapse.
